글루건은 수많은 공구 중 사용 빈도가 높은 편에 속한다.
특히나 DIY를 취미로 한다거나, 만들기를 즐기는 사람이라면 글루건은 평소 책상 위에서 찾아볼 수 있을 만큼 우리와 가까운 공구다. 하지만 조금만 자세히 들여다 보면, 가장 가까운 공구로서 두기에 그 사용성이나 미감에 있어서 문제가 많다.
글루건의 사용성과 미감에 있어서 불편한 부분을 줄이는 것이 이 프로젝트의 시작이다.

글루건의 사용성과 미감에 있어서 불편한 부분을 줄이는 것이 이 프로젝트의 시작이다.

For those who enjoy DIY as a hobby or enjoy making, the glue gun is a tool close to us enough to be found on the desk. But if you look a little closer, there are many problems with its usability and aesthetics.
The start of the project is to reduce the usability and appearance of glue guns.
미사용시 글루건 노즐부를 보호하던 삼각형의 조형은 사용시에 내려와 거치대의 역할을 하고, 거치대의 폭이 넓어 잘 넘어지지 않는다. 글루건의 노즐부가 아닌 글루건 무게 중심의 가운데에서 조형이 뻗어 나와 무게를 더욱 안정감 있게 받친다. 거치하였을 때 손잡이의 각도는 들어올리기에 적합한 각도로, 툭툭 내려놓고, 편하게 잡아 올릴 수 있도록 조형을 잡았다.

The triangular shape, which protected the glue gun nozzle part when not in use, comes down to serve as a stand when used, and does not fall easily due to the wide width of the stand. The shape extends from the center of the weight of the glue gun, not from the nozzle part of the glue gun, and supports the weight more stably. When placed, the angle of the handle was shaped to make it easier to place or lift.
1. 핫멜트가 얼마나 남았는지 확인할 수 있는 부분은 글루건의 구성요소 중 필수이다. 하지만 이러한 사출부가 항상 드러나 있을 필요는 없다. 핫멜트를 갈아줄 때만 확인하는 사출부를 드러내지 않을 수 있는 방법에 대하여 고민하였다.
2. 미사용시 거치대가 노즐부를 보호하는 모습. 이는 사용 후 열기가 남아있는 노즐부를 가려 화상 위험을 줄일 수 있고, 조형적 완성도를 높여준다.

1. The injection does not have to be always exposed. The injection part, which is checked only when changing the glue gun wick, was inserted into the inside.
2. The stand protects the nozzle part when not in use. This can reduce the risk of burns by covering the nozzle portion where heat remains after use, and completes the appearance.
사용성도 사용성이지만, 글루건은 공구함보다는 서랍, 또는 방 한켠에서 더 잘 찾아볼 수 있다. 무엇보다도 가장 가까운 공구인 만큼 그것이 갖는 미감을 개선하고자 하는데에 초점을 맞춰 프로젝트를 진행하였다. 그럼에도 글루건의 사용성 중 가장 큰 부분을 차지하는 거치면의 문제를 해결하고, 글루건을 사용하는데 필수적인 요소들을 잘 정리하기 위해 고민하는 시간을 가졌다.

Glue guns can be found in the room better than toolboxes. Above all, as it is the closest tool, the project was carried out focusing on solving the inconvenience of its appearance. Nevertheless, efforts were made to solve the problem of mounting the glue gun and to organize various parts well.
